year, which is fascinating! So the same might happen next year. I once worked in an office in a very old house and every winter, if you opened the windows (often to let hibernating queen wasps out too),I was showered with hibernating ladybirds. Many by Pippa Greenwood

Talkback: Floral dispays in France
and leave my small lemon tree (pot grown)our all year, this year it has been covered in ants and they have left the leaves covered in black stuff,so at the moment I have the pot sitting in water which seems to have deterred the ants, it also has wasps by kaycurtis

Plum branches pointing down
, though a lot of fruit is usually low hanging and is lost before harvesting (and when the wasps haven't invaded!). In some years, I've found branches snapped in half from their own weight but have rarely cut anything back. I'd love to restore this back by Beamo

- and to date I still haven't seen one.  Yes, cabbage whites everywhere but now the other butterflies are out - later than usual but more daily.  Greenfly, blackfly and whitefly in abundance unfortunately.  Fewer bees and the wasps are around early.  There are a by susan howard2

Flying Ants
,and as far as injecting anaesthetic these have run out i can feel the thing stick me, not far of a wasp sting pain and i used to be covered with red lumps that lasteed days if you scratched them,i was quite often left with spots of blood where they hed been by donutsmrs
