watercress
...http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2013/jan/26/gardening-alys-fowler-grow-watercress. There was a bit on this in the latest GW mag - it said to pot them into a pot lined with plastic, or in ordinary pots stood in water that you change frequently. We, too, have sprigs in a jar by daydaisy

Talkback: Coping with drought in the garden
with it, too! Nonsense. Water butts don't have to be those expensive ones garden centres sell. My water butts (3) were free from a chemical company obtained twenty years ago. A fourth one cost me #10 from a farmer, and my biggest one #15. In total 433 by oldchippy

in it so am now thinking of doing a small sunken large pot with just rain water in & hopefully get more frogs back into the garden..what plants do well at keeping it clear in stagnant water...     The reduction in your frogs alone is not responsible by jean linsley

Talkback: Preparing for drought in the garden
friendly and save water? Mulching is difficult between annual plants, newly planted trees and shrubs MUST be watered (planting in Autumn is probably the answer there) veg and salad need water....... another gardeners' challenge! What is the answer by happymarion

Irrigation in the greenhouse
Hello - I'd like to set up some kind of irrigation system in my greenhouse but I have no idea where to start. I have googled the topic and have found water bags with hoses attached and they seem quite cheap. Has anyone used these or does anyone by Tootles

New Apple trees
I was at an organic garden talk last night and it was surgested that you sink plastic bottles , 3 per tree in the ground , holes in the base , leave the top on and fill with water rather than just watering the ground ( obviously not at the moment by garrysnelson

scaredy cat plant, does it work
, I have some of the cat scarers but they don't work either, will just have to cary on with the water spray or hose when I get the chance but having the cats in my garden limits the amount of birds coming in as the cats scare them off, I've had to stop by notgreenfingers2
