as it was pink and not as fluffy. Will check it out, thanks. Is it Valerian? It wasn't the usual flower shape of the Valerian but more flat headed like Cow Parsley What were the leaves like? The leaf is the one in the picture behind the flower. I found it on a by Gracie5

Clematis 'The President & 'Niobe"
fish and bone or pelleted chicken manure as this will promote roots and foliage.  Then start again with the clematis feed for good flowers. Thanks Alina W for your reply. I forgot to mention the leaves turned white first before the onset of brown by Turfite

Hedgerow shrub - what is it ??
The hedgerows on my way to work have suddenly exploded into a white froth of flowers - they look stunning.  At  first I thought it was hawthorn, but the leaves don't look like it - does anyone know what it is:   Should have said by chicky

Bees in garden
in and out of the flowers and to watch how they move the petals about to get in.  I grew the white Cosmos for the first time this year and saw the same as you the bees loved them. Mine were very late in flowering as the Summer was awful but when then did grow by Lyn Whittington

What is this plant at Exbury Gardens?
is in the herbaceous/grass section and is planted with some fennel. It is tall, has purple stems, bluish-grey leaves and looks as though it will have small (white?) flowers at the top. I wish I'd asked now - but wanted to identify it myself from the photo..... Can you by Berkley

with suckers. Has red flowers in spring(commonest colour) There are varieties in white and pink too. Thank you for your speedy response, I probably should have added that is has spines which until cut down were about 5cm long and has red flowers.  It also grows by mdw84

the pink and white, didn't realise they were hybrids.  We have lots in our allotment, some Spanish and some native too.  The Spanish make very good cut flowers, they last longer in water than the natives. by Wodufin
