Sparrowhawk dilemma
's no nice way to do this, you are upsetting the balance of nature by feeding the birds in the first place. I've swapped my bird tables for nesting boxes and organic gardening so I can still enjoy the wildlife without too much interfering. Perhaps, phase out by jean riley

Talkback: Compost heaps and wildlife
it a poke! I didn't know about yellow slugs, Kate, and it's great news, so thanks. Is there any significance in other slug colours? I wish I had your friendly attitude to creepy crawlies - so far worms are the only ones I've learned to like, and even by BeeOrchid

still enjoy the show it just needs a bit of tweeking. As a beginner at 23 years (kid or not? unsure) I'm finding the website and show very 'user' friendly. I can understand why established gardeners might be frustrated, but the previous format was very by Lynn Drakelands

Talkback: Perfect hostas
.pesthelp.co.uk have currently sold out! I use crushed egg shells or crushed seashells around my hostas and this really works..Of coarse wash the shells first. I was given two hostas by a friend of my mother's a couple of year's ago. They were badly eaten by slugs. Re by lorrie-koolkats

Talkback: Wood chip paths
natural in gardens & look lovely, I have tried using them myself but I have a problem as I am visited every night by 4 legged bulldozers in the shape of badgers. Being a wildlife enthusiast I tolerate them but my bark paths have been virtually destroyed by Sarah from St. George's School Gardening Club
