Advice on planting native hedgerow please
I'm developing a piece of waste land as a wildlife garden. I am planting a hedgerow on the long thin spit of land which runs behind a low wall by a footpath.    Next week 70 native hedgerow bare root plants are arriving. I cleared the weeds from by Helen Bang

How and where to site a Bee house ??

i have already posted this on thread 'Brambles' however I do need help. When clearing an area of garden to prepare a rhubarb bed I moved some builders blue plastic sheet and, as well as a couple of large slugs, found 4, maybe 6, newts underneath it by bjay

Bees
in front of you! I moved house myself about two years ago and have been creating a wildlife friendly garden ever since. Within this last two years I have seen the number of bees, butterflies and all types of other wildlife increase dramatically! I have by Midget25

have the space.  You could also google The Big Wildlife Garden for ideas and try getting in touch with the education officer at your local Wildlife Trust and look at the RHS website as this year there are lots of events taking place during Gardening by Debs3

garden pond
Hi, I would like to putr a pond in my small back garden, using something like an old trug or washing bowl. how deep and wide would you suggest the receptacle, as I do not have much space, but want to encourage more wildlife? thanks Sorry by maureen o'Driscoll

, garden debris,under pots,dark places where they hide in the day-go out in the dark with a torch you will see them on the plants-pick them of and dispose- early this morning they were about. If you anti. the blue pellets there are wild-life friendly ones by leandal

Talkback: Hedgehogs and foxes
garden more of a wildlife garden - is there anything I can add to it for hedgehogs? Where do they hibernate, for example? here in Bristol we had a abundance of wildlife but Hedgehogs have not been seen for along time.I use to have them in the garden all by Jacqueline Dodsley

some wildlife in my garden. all i seem to get is slugs and snails!!! would love too see a few hedgehogs or mice or a robin or two!  Lovely to hear. I had a mouse last year and pretty much left it alone. It lived under my shed or raised patio and ate any by Milo de Paor
