Water plants for a wildlife pond
I created a wildlife pond from a preformed liner last autumn. It has sloped edges and will be in semi sun and semi shade. It is about 1metre long and about half a metre wide. Not very big. I am now thinking about what water plants to put by John mcleod

Talkback: Native plants for wildlife ponds
Plantlife and your region's Wildlife Trust should be able to help you to source native species. Just be careful what natives you choose. Some are just too big for a garden pond. For example native irises are beautiful but rampage about and take over. by rosad1

Are sterile plants any good for wildlife?
Hi - I have a wildlife garden and I don't use any plants that aren't beneficial to bees and beneficial insects. I recently bought 6 plugs of Foxglove Pink Illumination which is the brand new perrennial foxglove which won at Chelsea. They are coming by Lunarz

Wildlife friendly suggestions for bare fences....
and to create an additional wildlife habitat...put up 2" square plastic mesh so that if sits about 4" away from the fence. I use long vine-eyes in the posts and in the middle of the panels (depending on the type of panel) I put small wooden platforms. This helps by BugFriendlyGardener

Talkback: How wildlife friendly is your garden?
and vegetables so wildlife is not really welcome in my garden although with the winter coming up I can't help but feel for the birds. My quandary really is this, I want to feed the birds but will they come back in the summer because they're used to it? jgmc3 by Dilek

Do I need a filter in my wildlife pond
Hi, I am new to this site and gardening. Have recently moved to a new home and am in the process of doing a wildlife pond which is 2.5m x 1.5m x 0.5m depth. i am having a small cascade waterfall going into the pond and will be adding various pond by Danny 7

Talkback: Do we really want wildlife in our gardens?
Thanks for your comments, I've been thinking these thoughts for years, is it a marketing ploy for all of those companies who sell various attractive wildlife products to pretty-up our gardens, animals and wildlife would much prefer a wilderness to a by Wild Soundscape
