is it safe to put seedlings into window boxes yet?
when is the usual time to plant window boxes - I have grown hundreds of plants from seed (by accident! I was expecting some of them to die!) and now want them off all my window ledges inside my flat but don't know whether I'd lose the lot to cold by grai

Plants for window boxes..
My window boxes were a nightmare last year - few flowers, then just rotting plants in all the rain, which I then removed -couldn't bear to look at them. Can anyone advise me as which plants would be good in the boxes - they are on a wall in partial by sunnyone

Pelargoniums (geraniums??) in window boxes
You will lose them soon to frost,cold and wet if left outside-get them under cover and do not cut back until next spring. You might find the leaves go mouldy anyway and will need to be removed Many thanks, sotongeoff! I used window boxes as a by northchiel

Hanging baskets and window boxes
I know it's a bit early yet but, since I'm sat on a sofa recuperating from my op, I have time to think about garden projects this year.   I'd like to do some interesting hanging baskets and window boxes this year instead of my usual trailing by obelixx

what makes a good window box / Basket
I think its time to do a few window boxes i have a couple done already with pansy and lobilia but what are your favourites?  My verbina is still a little small though my surfinias are rapidly getting up to size.  Anyway how do you like to fill yours by blackest

window boxes are a wash out this year
I live in a flat with a balcony and love containers and window boxes   I grew everything from seed this year to cut the cost so it was months of work and I have to say looking today half way through August I've finally admittied to myself its now by grai

What Type of Garden is Yours.
stuck inside all day as was too wimpy to try and garden in the snow. Hey up nigelcoad never bored listening to folks talking about their gardens and projects in their gardens Me grandad could talk for an hour about a window box and not repeat owt by Brian Cooper

I have been inundated with chick weed brought in in bags of bought compost, I know this as being right as I used to tend my Aunties window box with the same make soil and the window box in no time was smothered in chick weed. Chickweed is edible. I by kilwinningjim

s in her window box and they come back each year......her window box looks a bit empty though when they have died down.....hope this is of some help. I have some in pots Alison and when they've finished I'm going to replant them in the garden and hopefully by Alison A
