Talkback: National Conifer Week
is that they are hard to combine with other plants and people often seem to go mad and plant too many together. My small son planted a dwarf conifer in his window box but I have refrained from passing judgment. Reply to Lila: What good taste your son has. I regularly by Lainey

Strange 'growths' on lettuce and radish stems
and the radish in a a window box type trough usually used for flowers. I've added a bit of Growmore but nothing else. Why did you add growmore at the sowing stage? Added growmore at the thinning out stage. The lettuces were sown in a propagator that came as a kit by Michael Rogerson

Can i grow clematis in a trough?
I have a small roof terrace where i would like to create a foliage screen for privacy. People have suggested clematis as a good choice as it climbs well. I am planning to buy the two troughs below http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-Hand-made-Quality-Wooden-Garden-Planter-window-box by O Osborne
