Talkback: Seed potatoes and mice
I got mine from R H S wisley.the early potatoes were from thomson & morgan 2kg sacks problem was that you got a few large ones and tiddly ones, not even half a tray, far from happy. I have left mine on a window sill, but there is some kind of grey by Marc

in Munich and have window boxes on my veranda. My friend was making some popcorn in the summer and without my knowledge she put some in my window boxes. To my amazement they germinated started grown and now I have loads of plans most about 2 foot with one by Graham Heyes

Plastic bags for seedlings
Runners off in those big yoghurt pots with the lid on until they shoot and on the window sill in the kitchen, I've got Sweet Peas in a clear plastic box that had danish pastries in originally. Those bakery boxes are mini greenhouses and i use them all by Lucy3

OH would stick his head out of the upstairs back window and bark like a Border Terrier at cats coming over the fence - they invariably turned tail and most gave up trying - but he was working from home and could keep an eye on the back fence by JDVS

by something and when I looked through the window I saw several adults diving down from the fence into the garden. When I went outside, I found that a sparrowhawk had caught a young blackbird and the adults were mobbing it and trying to rescue the chick by Jacey26

Sparrowhawk dilemma
's no nice way to do this, you are upsetting the balance of nature by feeding the birds in the first place. I've swapped my bird tables for nesting boxes and organic gardening so I can still enjoy the wildlife without too much interfering. Perhaps, phase out by jean riley

personal experience on composting
stuff that gives air space.The boxes are square made of wooden slats on a frame with very slight gaps between the slats to let air in at all levels although the best way is to turn the compost mixing it well as you go. The boxes have lids.People say by Sam Glendinning
