Talkback: Quicker compost
and exposing to oxygen will speed things up no end. Don't forget to cover your heap with old carpet - the warmer the quicker the decomposition. Compost does take longer to make in the winter for this reason. I have 3 bins. One is a wire cage for leaf mould by Girlsrock2

window boxes are a wash out this year
got myself into gear and did all the work all winter / spring for nothing really - I have to say my flowers this year have been totally UN-inspiring so where I'll get the drive from for next year goodness knows plants in the garden have suffered by grai

high ive got a nearly pot bound plant called so im told dont know if my uncles having me on ( mother in laws tongue) can i split it now its flowering at the moment sticky sappy flowers I have michelmas daisies that have the 'need to be split' look by chilipops

to poison the wildlife! so i go out at dusk, or later with a torch and hand pick all the slugs + snails and each night there are dozens of them and they seem faster then too, i find them munching on my lily flowers and my Dalilas. at this time all the frogs by Anonymous

The cold weather is good for soft fruit in particular Raspberries. There was a worry some years ago, that with rising temps, Kent would become unsuitable for such crops that need cold to trigger profuse flowering.No doubt of a good crop next year by galloway130
