clay soil late summer flowers (slug proof but bee friendly)
In July most of our flowering plants have stopped but thats when i need some flowers.  Ive tried anenome (Japanese) but it only lasted a year.  We  are left with iceplant and honeysuckle for July / aug / sept.  I also throw some nasturtium seeds by Ems2

Plants for window boxes..
pansies. I have winter flowering pansies in no which are just starting to take off again. A few years ago I visited Capel Manor and noticed that they underplanted a lot of their baskets with attractive Ivy, to give a nice backdrop. I often steal this idea by sunnyone

it in the garden centre? Isn't it flowers of sulphur?-this is just from memory-can't say I have ever bothered. You'll find some anti fungal something for storing tubers etc. I've never used it but I don't grow anything I'd have to lift for winter. http by Carol Thomas

soldiers and need softening, I think. Alchemilla mollis would look good or pink hardy geraniums. To ensure the bulbs go on flowering year after year don't let them seed, but cut the flowerhead down to 2inches when it is past its best. Have a go. I think by kathryn/brock
