Fig trees
of the pot with bubble wrap before filling with compost as this gives the roots extra protection from frost.  Use a good John Innes 3 type compost and make sure it doesn sit in a wet puddle in winter. I have a fig in a pot on the terrace in central Italy by Chris9

Clematis Armandii
Three years ago I planted a Clematis Armandii with the specific purpose of covering a thick black plastic pipe on the back wall of my house. I wrapped plastic netting round the pipe before planting and the Clematis grew at a fantastic rate by lizmac

Trellis
into the fence with 6" screws to give the front runners of the clemantis something to hold on to. Once they grab onto it the others generally grow on each other.   I have several montannas and i just use wood trellis. A also train it along wire which i wrap by nicola brookes

Downpipe stop end
that was a similar size put it over the end used a bit of plumbers mate paste and then wrapped duct tape its still there as far as i know , if you dont have any plumbers mate just the silver duct tape will do it unless you need a better looking finish by Anneon

can we start a free plant give away in our local area
and a little soil can be wrapped in damp kitchen paper then put into a plastic bag. The whole thing put into a fruit punnet thing from the supermarket. Then one was put in a modifted cardboard box and another a jiffy bag. It makes swapping easy by derrick hammer

Apple Tree Help needed
where it would have frozen & died, I've stupidly left it in the kitchen, with the roots in a bucket, still in the wrap, but with some holes punched in the bottom and a couple of inches of water in the bucket, so it wouldn't die from lack of water by Mummy Muddy Paws

Heating the greenhouse
and use the earths heat. A thermostatic fan heater will then keep the heat around the greenhouse. Another good way is using massive rolls of horticutural bubble wrap around the walls. I have seen it in B&Q for £15, not sure the length though. But if stored by Twinny
