Slugs and Snails
and snails....i pick them off, put them on newspaper and pour salt over them..then wrap them up.   I have no mercy!  my mum chops them in half with shears... yuk Get blue pellets at Wilkinsons they only cost a few pounds and kill alot of snails and slugs. I by Dolly11

plant support for crocosmia lucifer
have many Lucifers in my garden. At present, my hubby is staking the centre of the plant and I wrap garden wire around it as it grows.... but it can look ugly and a little amateur. I would be grateful for any tips. Thank you     I know just what you by suze2902

but Nature cures her own. I lift mine for moving onto a large shovel and drag it to position or an old plastic bag but make sure it is strong. If leaving the shrub for a while then wrap the root ball in plastic and water well. Once moved and well watered by nightgarden

to wrap the garden in unsightly fleece so trust to hardiness, mulches of compost for specials and stashing pots in the greenhouse for winter.    I did build a windbreak round my blueberries last autumn and they've come through this winter much better than by Brumbull

greenhouse is going to go it's 8ftx6ft so i will start the base tomorrow. Must say it's still a biting wind out there i was wrapped up like it was December just wish i had it up as i have plants coming out the door of my other one to meet me but the weather by Mummy Muddy Paws

them die and cut them off. during real hard frosts i just wrap an old bit of carpet around the trunks and tie it with string. a basjoo will survive in the uk no problem, and if the worse comes to the worse, you can still chop the whole plant off by jason

wrap around them in winter though. Maybe this insulates the pot. Sorry about your pots. Does the shape make a difference? If they are wide in the middle and narrow at the top I find the moisture in the soil freezes and expands sideways and cracks by Ann B-M

If you wrap some plastic around the end of the birch sticks before pushing them into the soil it will prevent them from rotting. Hazel branches are great. The squirrels in my garden are forever leaving nuts to sprout and provide me with new bushes by Betty
