Diseased garrya eliptica
't stand the freezing wind. Mine looks awful but it doesn't die. Might be better if it did.   So, it has brown spots on it and some of the leaves are very brittle and brown.  Do I need to wrap it in some horticultatal fleece or maybe it is too late by Pinkrose

Plastic packages for posted plants
. They do use the waste for burning for heat, but it's still a waste of resources. I live in France and we recycle loads. Any sort of bubble wrap plastic, yoghurt pots, tins, paper etc and the beauty is that in this area you put the whole lot in a yellow bin by greenjude

Let's find out who gave me the Lurgy
Verdun, wrap up and keep warm. It was a child, most likely a grand child, believe me! The little angels take the bugs to school, pass them round like marbles, then come home again in a new, more virulent strain. Proper little disease vectors. The sticky by Verdun

What to do with lemon plants
.   Lemons need to be kept frost-free in winter. Considering where you are, if you built them a shelter and wrapped them well with fleece, including the pots, then I think there is a reasonable chance that they will survive. The other thing that you may by Blueboots

Talkback: How to grow onions, shallots and garlic
spaces for the onions. Pop them in the greenhouse and they will love it. With seeds I put them in small pots wrap newspaper around each pot and the seeds love that too. I have recently bought onion sets and shallots but due to the adverse weather by markpete

Strong Tub Trugs
full  - grrrrr! It is very likely UV damage to the plastic caused by sunlight.   You could try wrapping the handles in gaffer tape etc to protect them from the sun, but I suspect they will then break at the point where the tape ends!  Like chilli lover by chicky
