the spindly stage - or maybe I ought to be doing something to encourage better growth.  Any tips, photos?  I'm suspecting that a windy, wet Scottish garden is the wrong environment for them!  Hi yarrow2 - will get some photos tomorrow !! Mine are very spindly by Gracie5

New roses for old
in a 50/50 mixture of GP compost and vermiculite. Allow a full twelve months to produce a good root system then pot on into individual pots. 18 months to two years and they are ready to grow into the ground. My reply to Yarrow2 seems not to have been by Naki

Is it wild phlox?
and kept it.  Had to dig an enormous hole to plant it in the garden - the entire pot shape.  It doesn't look attractive these days but hadn't a clue what else to do with it other than the bin and just couldn't commit it for council execution.   Yarrow2 by Robot

Talkback: Tomato blight
with a strong tea made of yarrow and sometimes I add garlic and other herbs. It can prevent blight if used repeatedly and slows down an onslaught if it has already taken hold. Much better than using chemicals particularly if you want to eat the tomatoes by jogriff

Plantain, Lady’s Bedstraw, Yarrow, Cowslip, Self Heal and Red Campion'. Only one website was quoting prices, which seem to be about £27 for a 1.25 meter square. Not that expensive, IMO. Thank you gardenfantic, I'll certainly check out what's on the red by Wintersong
