Talkback: Good things about February
, but the iris r had buds, I couldn't dig in thr snow so kept them moist in utility rm, now iris flowers have opened up and they are dark purple with a little yellow, I am not sure what to do really. Did they send them too early? I have never planted bubs by happymarion

I have recently been told that you should always pinch the flowers out of potato plants. I have been growing potatoes for 35 years and have never done this. can you tell me if this is right. my potatoes have just started to flower, how do i know by John.J.R.P.

can I plant now?
I have cleared my garden after buying a new house. I got a planner to plan the shrubs and flowers (its my first garden!) so I didn't botch the job. It took several week though and then a couple more to respond and get replies. In the end it took a by Bill Mansfield

tomatoes
in 12" pots and 2 plants in medium troughs. They were out door so got lots of rain on them. I did check that they were not standing in too much water. They had not flowered when I went away. Unfortuately I have just cut them up and put them in our by H7

Spring -summer
, I have some yellow ones .... will look for some more colours, your right they do flower late and grow great in my clay.... I bought some pink seeds to try this year , hope they work. Don't think I've ever had sweet William I've started some by Bunny..

the neighbourhood cats digging up my beds and uprooting some of the young srubs and breaking the heads off the bulbs, lol. One which is easily obtained and flowers early, usually from Dec. in Bristol, is Galanthus elwesii - no yellow markings but grey-green large by Flowers

Talkback: Dealing with aphids
& water, which does seem to kill the aphids, but the rose's leaves are also turning brown and yellow and dropping off - could this be connected to the spray or the aphids? What is fatty acid spray? That might be a better option. Can someone help please by peter dee
