bitter swede

Hi Guys,  I have just harvested two swede (cant remember what variety), one average size the other huge, same plot and both are bitter. Is this because they have not had a frost or have i done something wrong. Thanks

Hi Can anyone tell me do I water these or just let them grow normally under cover to prevent winter frosts? I have put them under cover and they are growing like the other onions but apparently they do not need watering until spring. Is this correct

When is the time to plant Babiana and Sparaxis bulbs? Thanks. Are you growing these in a frost-free greenhouse or outside?  If in the greenhouse you can plant your Babianas any time now.  If you want to grow them outside wait until late spring

What grey leaved plants for under trees

they can cope with it being dry. Silver leaved dead nettle (lamium) seem to like it under the dry shade of my oak tree. You could try a green leaf that is frosted like Brunnera Jack Frost.

I HAVE READ VARIUOS WAYS TO OVERWINTER PRLEGONIOUMS. IS THERE A SUCCSSESFUL WAY Nunu,   Ideally you should have taken cuttings in July/August and you should keep these frost free over winter. Also I keep a few pelagoniums in the house
