of irises anybody had a similar experience and any advice out there? I have noticed that my lovely plum tree has a greenfly infestation. I want to treat it but need to use something that will not effect the eating quality of this years crop. Any suggestions

slug repellent, beer traps and none have been particularly successful. I won't use pellets as I have two young children, and a pond is out for the same reason. Guess there are some things I will never get to grow! Sigh.... I dream of Hostas....!!! i

.F. geranium I mentioned. The bed also had those Night Owl Irises and Q of Night tulips and later some of the dark sedums so I had lots of bees and butterflies, and inky purple clematis at the back. The 'Spring Green' tulips look good with that combination

those copper irises and verbascum's go over it would be very dull.  I loved Chris Beardshaw's garden but unfortunately cannot grow acid lovers but it was lush.  Diarmuid's was just mad but the ground level planting was lovely.    I liked the planting

has given them all the encouragement they need to grow ! So I've been out weeding - it is a relentless task but I found them easier to extract with the soil being that much softer. It also stops them getting a head start on everything else. Enjoyed


Too late to plant Tulip/Daff bulbs?
