North Facing

Have recently acquired a North facing back garden 24 mtrs length x 23 mtrs width.    No trees.  Normal sized 1 storey house.   Garden slops away downwards from the house onto large uncultivated land which is a further 6ft drop.   Have not yet

. It doesn't grow, doesn't need edging or cutting and if you can't get it free from your council try a Tree trimmimg company or Timber merchant for a cheaper alternative to the DIY or garden centre bagged bark. Managed to get free wood chips from a nice man

all summer up to frosts. I usually only grow the white one, en masse wherever I have space. They contrast well with other plants. Oh yes, and the foliage is a pretty fern like leaf. You can't beat them, and they come in good colours too. Go for it

Lupins laid low with infestions
