I have badgers coming into the garden digging up the lawn. They are looking for chafer grubs to eat.  I know that I need to get rid of the chafer grubs, but until that works, the badgers are destroying the lawn. How can I stop them coming

out of the edges of leaves, Knock the plant out of its pot and look for any white grubs in the soil, if you find any and they have not too much damage to the roots ,get as much soil off the roots re-pot and water with a suitable vine weevil killer

and gorge themselves on the peelings, Check every couple of days and empty contents into a bucket of water, the fat grubs will drown. Repeat as necessary.

plan to use nematodes in the autumn to kill off the grubs in the soil but what can i do about the weevils? I have just been out and picked off about 20 weevils and squashed them! Is there anything I can use to spray them with? I will be eating the salad

  Pinkpeony, can you describe what is happening to your lawn.. At this time of the year lawns are attacked by crane fly larvae feeding on the grass roots. Birds search for these grubs and because the grass roots have been eaten the grass is torn up too

eaten, with the damage starting either from outer edge of the leaf, or from circular holes in the middle of the leaf.  So far I can't find sign of vine weevil grubs or adults.  Any advice welcome! A lot of creatures are night feeders and I always suspect
