weed supressing membrane

Does anybody know how long weed suppressing membrane has to be in position to kill and established lawn stone dead? I would imagine at least 6 months, 1 month has been suggested. I can't find written documentation on the test being actually carried


New lawn

the same problem on the thread I was encouraged to mow more often and also used Evergreen Lawn feed the one without weed killer and it seems to be working the grass is gradually turning green and looking healther. There is some great advice on this thread

Hi, I got a new lawn this year and we laid it by turf. It was perfectly fine but i mowed it 2 months later and I think it over cut so there are many yellow patches in my lawn and  It also looks dry. Are there any feeds that I can use in August

laying time. I would spread compost on the top too before laying the turf. And dwarf rye grass for the turf is very hardwearing. Weeds will grow but, as I have already said, they can be mown out or treated with lawn weedkiller when the lawn is 6 months

that a previous owner had added earth to. When we bought our house it had been empty for 6 years. The ?lawn was full of nettles brambles and weeds. We hired professionals to deal with it as we were busy doing the house. They just mowed it all
