last year, you just can't win. I sowed free seeds from the front of another well known gardening magazine (sorry) and then planted out the plugs in my wildflower lawn. I hoped that they would give some extra colour as this is this areas first season

by the wind, animals etc. to the extent of a patch of our lawn being full of parsnips! so i don't want to assume this plant is a weed and just dig it up to find it was actually something edible. i don't want to leave it if it is a weed as it's taking water

it out of the lawn but leave it at the bottom and sides of the garden where I am also growing little patches of wild flowers so it should fit in quite nicely! To stop it spreading do I just dead head it before it turns to the fluffy seeds? Also

heat.In goes all vegetable waste from the house, plus teabags, eggshells (broken up), old growbags, lawn clippings, ash from the fire and brown paper and loo roll tubes. I also occasionally mix in a bag or two of horse manure. I rotate them around

over the weekend and its said to be a good week so i was out at 6.30am this morning cutting the lawn and i have just come in for a coffee break after potting..( a great gardeners word " potting" more like getting a break from the kids or husband lol ) I

many ants this summer at all , flying or otherwise. Find that a bit strange as we usually have a problem every year in the conservatory and find a nest in the front lawn - maybe they are massing and planning for an invasion as we speak!! However

, the bushes in the clip now mature trees and the lawn has vanished, less crowded back then you cannot move for pots these days. I cannot argue with that, as you get older pots are much easier to work on and the garden can be changed by adding or removing pots
