Potatos after Jerusalaem Artichokes

Hi, Just dug up all my artichokes as, I need the bed for other things. Can I follow them with potatos? I'm not sure what they are classed as so I don't want to plant the same crop category in the same bed.   Artichokes are going elsewhere.   Regards

I am growing potatoes in pots and have been earthing up.  They have now reached the top of the pot and I now have a little mound!  I can't earth up much more so is is OK to just let them grow naturally now.  Any advice greatly appreciated
