with the water? Would it be ok to use galvanised steel? My pond is roughly circular and about 6ft diameter. It should not be a problem if it does not rust but the gaps in the grid should be big enough that wildlife can get in and out.  I have always had a pond

Doesn't the smell just make you want to get cooking when you harvest garlic, Pippa? Same with onions and shallots. I have a slatted table so will do the same with mine. Thanks for the tip - I hadn't thought of that. No sign of rust here either


New Clematis

garlic

the end of Sept last year. This is too early to be digging them up.  I don't harvest mine until August. I do think it may also depend on the variety. I planted 'Marco' (I think!) in October. They grew very well over the winter but did develop signs of rust


laurel brown spots?
