My windowsills are always chock-a-block with plants so I am always looking for ways to save space. I had some seed potatoes that were just sprouting at the eyes but they needed a bit more time, so it was either them on the windowsill or my cuttings

. Personally, I would skip the lot to save spreading weeds and seeds across the entire garden, but that's just me. If you want/need to sort through the pile, I would suggest sieving the lot at least. In a small garden a compost heap takes up a lot of space

seeds are hybrids the seed will necessarily be true.   Your comment about ripeness of the seeds is only applicable if using seeds saved oneself. Seeds supplied by a seed company will have been harvested correctly. And you appear to have made a copy
