Hi I am new to the forum, my daughter has recently moved to a farm in N Wales, her partner would like to start a veg plot and asked me for advice. Apparently there was a veg patch at one time and he would like to clear it and have a go. The question

I have 2 wheelly bins of rain water on my allotment, i never had a lid on them so the water is smelly with fallen leaves etc in there, is this ok to water my veg plot with or do i need to use a waterbut with a lid on, water? I would say it's fine

there will be some failures but also successes. Seem to remember it was dryer and there was more sun this time last year and stuff in the GH did well. GH veg isn't doing as well this year me thinks due to the poor light and less heat in there. Sweetcorn did well last
