I'm starting to get duckweed and pond weed in my pond. I tried chemicals but ended up in a big cycle of endlessly having to add one thing after another without ever really getting rid of them. I tried ducks but the pond was too small really

, no chance. In short, what can't be cured must be endured or at least change of attitude from unwanted weeds to glorious colour. Good luck with your weeding! I dont agree with your solution of weed killer in this day and age and altho some of the weeds
