Take lavender cuttings

The wafting scent of lavender is a true fragrance of summer, but these plants can be sadly short-lived. So, to keep lavender lingering, why not raise new plants from cuttings? It's a simple technique that will provide you with more of your favourite plants for free.

Takes just: 45 minutes

Flowers

Watering hanging baskets
  • Keep baskets and patio pots watered
  • Spray roses to protect them from pests and diseases
  • Cut the foliage of daffodils and tulips down to the ground
  • See all flowers jobs

Fruit and veg

Plant out brassicas
  • Plant out leeks and brassicas raised in a seed bed
  • Spread mulch around crops to conserve soil moisture
  • Net developing soft fruits to protect them from birds

Greenhouse

Tie in tomatoes
  • Tie greenhouse tomatoes to their supports as they grow
  • Feed plants with fertiliser solution once a week
  • Apply shading paint or put up shade netting or blinds
