It's time to...

Set up an automatic watering system to look after greenhouse crops, patio pots and baskets if you're going on holiday
Raise mower cutting height to leave lawns longer if the weather is very dry
Trim conifers and other garden hedges
Top up the water levels in garden ponds
Feed bedding plants with high-potash fertiliser to keep them blooming
Weed flower beds, pulling them up by hand or hoeing bare areas on a hot day
Scoop floating weed from ponds with a net
