Built in 1772, the four-acre walled kitchen garden is back in full production, growing many unusual, old and local varieties of vegetables and fruit, alongside modern ones. Grapes, peaches and figs ripen in the glasshouse, while the palm house and conservatory display ornamental plants. The double borders that run through the garden provide a visual feast all summer. Beyond is parkland with walking trails around the lake.
