Step back in time into the Elizabethan garden, full of plants that were available in 1580. In the pond garden, geometric hedges and topiary surround a circular waterlily pool. There is also a striking silver border, and a kitchen garden with vegetables, cut flowers and fruit trees. Altogether there are 20 acres of Grade I listed gardens to explore, full of history and beauty.
Important update
With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, gardens in the 2-for-1 directory are beginning to open.
To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, many have special measures in place, including pre-booking and limiting the number of visitors.
Before visiting a garden, please contact the garden directly to determine their opening status and any restrictions that may apply.
Please note: we’re unable to keep all individual 2-for-1 garden pages updated, but we will publish the latest details that we have on our weekly updates page from week commencing Monday 8 June, 2020.
