Created from 1731 onwards, these magnificent gardens are set across 47 acres, blending formal design with natural beauty. They include sweeping terraces, statues, formal plantings, towering trees, lakes, secret hollows and rambling walks. In the 100-year-old Japanese garden you can follow winding paths past fragrant azaleas, a pagoda, stream, bridges and maple trees. The Italian garden is set on a series of terraces leading down to the lake and is adorned with statues of gods and mythical creatures.
Important update
With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, gardens in the 2-for-1 directory are beginning to open.
To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, many have special measures in place, including pre-booking and limiting the number of visitors.
Before visiting a garden, please contact the garden directly to determine their opening status and any restrictions that may apply.
Please note: we’re unable to keep all individual 2-for-1 garden pages updated, but we will publish the latest details that we have on our weekly updates page from week commencing Monday 8 June, 2020.
