Ballintubbert means ‘town of the wells’, and water plays a key role in this 14-acre garden, with an impressive 100m-long canal and elegant water garden. Developed over the past 170 years the garden is designed in the Arts and Crafts tradition, with a series of individual areas to explore. These range from a formal rose garden, orchard, herb garden and lime-tree walk, to informal wildflower meadows and woodlands, all managed organically.
Important update
With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, gardens in the 2-for-1 directory are beginning to open.
To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, many have special measures in place, including pre-booking and limiting the number of visitors.
Before visiting a garden, please contact the garden directly to determine their opening status and any restrictions that may apply.
Please note: we’re unable to keep all individual 2-for-1 garden pages updated, but we will publish the latest details that we have on our weekly updates page from week commencing Monday 8 June, 2020.
