Narrow doorways lead into three interlinked walled gardens. The wilderness garden, despite its name, has a formal design of borders around an immaculate lawn. In the rose garden, you’ll find clipped yews, formal flowerbeds and fragrant roses, while in the ramparts garden you can enjoy fine views of the Lancashire countryside, the Lake District and North Wales on a clear day.
Important update
With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, gardens in the 2-for-1 directory are beginning to open.
To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, many have special measures in place, including pre-booking and limiting the number of visitors.
Before visiting a garden, please contact the garden directly to determine their opening status and any restrictions that may apply.
Please note: we’re unable to keep all individual 2-for-1 garden pages updated, but we will publish the latest details that we have on our weekly updates page from week commencing Monday 8 June, 2020.
