Set up over 350 years ago, this is one of the world’s finest botanic gardens with an amazingly diverse collection of plants within its 70 acres. The impressive glasshouses include the Victorian Tropical Palm House and Temperate Palm House, where you’ll find a lush profusion of rare, exotic and amazing plants. Look out for exquisite orchids, ancient cycads, giant Amazon waterlilies, towering bamboos, exotic climbers flowering along the balconies, spice plants such as turmeric and cardamom, and important food crops including bananas, rice, sugar, cocoa and tea.
