Celebrating its 350th anniversary in 2020, this is one of the world’s finest botanic gardens, with an amazingly diverse collection of plants within its 70 acres. The impressive glasshouses include the Victorian Tropical Palm House and Temperate Palm House, where you’ll find a lush profusion of rare, exotic and amazing plants. Look out for dazzling orchids, ancient cycads, giant Amazon waterlilies, towering bamboos, exotic climbers flowering along the balconies, spice plants such as turmeric and cardamom, and important food crops including bananas, rice, sugar, cocoa and tea.
Important update
With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, gardens in the 2-for-1 directory are beginning to open.
To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, many have special measures in place, including pre-booking and limiting the number of visitors.
Before visiting a garden, please contact the garden directly to determine their opening status and any restrictions that may apply.
Please note: we’re unable to keep all individual 2-for-1 garden pages updated, but we will publish the latest details that we have on our weekly updates page from week commencing Monday 8 June, 2020.
