Discover how the Tudors and Elizabethans lived, worked, gardened, and relaxed at home. The accessible garden surrounding the medieval timber-framed house is based on Tudor planting schemes and contains traditional plants, including the popular Tudor medlar tree, grapevines, and fragrant plants such as roses and herbs. You can also see how the herbs were prepared in the restored kitchen.
Important update
With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, gardens in the 2-for-1 directory are beginning to open.
To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, many have special measures in place, including pre-booking and limiting the number of visitors.
Before visiting a garden, please contact the garden directly to determine their opening status and any restrictions that may apply.
Please note: we’re unable to keep all individual 2-for-1 garden pages updated, but we will publish the latest details that we have on our weekly updates page from week commencing Monday 8 June, 2020.
