Dating from the 1930s, these informal woodland gardens burst into bloom in spring with a profusion of vibrant azaleas and rhododendrons. Over the summer months, hydrangeas in a range of hues take centre stage, along with climbing roses and island beds full of shrubs and perennials. The many trees include mature maples, oaks and pines, with plenty of rare and unusual species. These provide the perfect habitat for many native birds.
Important update
With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, gardens in the 2-for-1 directory are beginning to open.
To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, many have special measures in place, including pre-booking and limiting the number of visitors.
Before visiting a garden, please contact the garden directly to determine their opening status and any restrictions that may apply.
Please note: we’re unable to keep all individual 2-for-1 garden pages updated, but we will publish the latest details that we have on our weekly updates page from week commencing Monday 8 June, 2020.
