Founded in 1621, these are the oldest botanic gardens in the UK. An oasis of biodiversity in the heart of Oxford, the gardens boast over 5,000 plant species, dramatic herbaceous borders, glasshouses to take you around the world, taxonomic family beds and a peaceful riverside water garden, plus many other highlights.
Important update
With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, gardens in the 2-for-1 directory are beginning to open.
To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, many have special measures in place, including pre-booking and limiting the number of visitors.
Before visiting a garden, please contact the garden directly to determine their opening status and any restrictions that may apply.
Please note: we’re unable to keep all individual 2-for-1 garden pages updated, but we will publish the latest details that we have on our weekly updates page from week commencing Monday 8 June, 2020.
