Barbara Hepworth was one of Britain’s most important 20th-century artists and created this small, secluded garden behind her studio, in the heart of St Ives, as a setting for her sculptures. It’s a sheltered and tranquil oasis, where more than 30 sculptures in bronze, stone and wood are set in perfect harmony with the lush subtropical planting.

Important update

With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, gardens in the 2-for-1 directory are beginning to open.

To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, many have special measures in place, including pre-booking and limiting the number of visitors.

Before visiting a garden, please contact the garden directly to determine their opening status and any restrictions that may apply.

Please note: we’re unable to keep all individual 2-for-1 garden pages updated, but we will publish the latest details that we have on our weekly updates page from week commencing Monday 8 June, 2020.
