A steam extravaganza in Snowdon National Park

Staying in the spectacular surroundings of North Wales, enjoy a relaxing holiday combined with the wonders of rail. Head for the clouds with a steam train trip on the Snowdon Mountain Railway – a little rack and pinion railway climbing to the very top of Snowdon. Then chug along the shores of Lake Padarn before gliding through 40 miles of show-stopping scenery on the iconic Welsh Highland Railway and the Ffestiniog Railway. We also spend time in the Italianate village of Portmeirion, and Betws-y-Coed, the principal village of Snowdonia.

Please note:

Trains cannot proceed to the summit of Snowdon if conditions become severe, i.e. high winds or snow and ice on the track. In such cases, trains will terminate at Rocky Valley, 5/8 of the way to the summit. If there are severe winds, passengers are not allowed to disembark at Rocky Valley.
