Garden highlights

Day 1: We start the tour exploring the gardens of Rodmarton Manor, which will be at their late summer best and are among the best examples of the Arts and Crafts movement in this country. After an included light lunch here, we then return to the hotel to freshen up before heading off to The Royal Gardens at Highgrove, home of HRH The Prince of Wales, for an exclusive tour of his innovative and inspirational organic gardens. You’ll see at first hand the famous Stumpery, yew topiary, cobble-patterned Thyme Walk, rose arbours and more, as experienced guides give you a rare glimpse into the life of Prince Charles and explain how he crafted these magical gardens from scratch. We round off this special visit with a 3-course dinner, including Highgrove wines, in the beautiful Orchard Room, and a lively talk and Q&A session with Adam Frost.

Day 2: We tour Miserden Estate, which won the HHA Garden of the Year Award in 2018 for its ongoing revival of this historic site. Then we travel on to Painswick Rococo Garden, where the head gardener will show us around this unique pleasure garden created in the 1740s, with its quirky follies and fascinating stories.

Day 3: Brings us to Rockcliffe Gardens for a tour of this beautiful 8-acre private garden with its rose terraces, herbaceous borders and walled kitchen garden. Lunch in picturesque Chipping Campden is followed by a tour of Upton Wold, where its hidden garden contains an exceptional collection of trees, shrubs and plants.

Day 4: You’ll enjoy a morning visit to Bourton House’s idyllic gardens in the company of the head gardener, exploring the three acres of rich planting. Created by the present owners over 25 years, the gardens’ high-impact borders featured on BBC Gardeners’ World TV in 2019. We conclude our trip with an afternoon at Daylesford Organic Farm, with its award-winning farm shop, for a fascinating tour of the market garden, where 300 types of fruit, vegetables, salads and herbs are grown organically, including many heritage varieties.
