The native foxglove, Digitalis purpurea, is the perfect addition to the cottage garden. The flowers are very attractive to bees. Most are biennial but they will self-seed, offering new plants year after year; some species are perennial. All are loved for their spires of bell-shaped tubular pink flowers with a spotted centre.
