Herbaceous peonies are a popular choice for adding colour and drama to ornamental borders in late spring and early summer. They bear large, often double flowers in whites, pinks, reds and yellows. Unlike tree peonies, herbaceous peonies die back to ground level in winter.
Paeonia lactiflora 'Le Cygne' is a fantastic double-flowered peony, bearing large, white blooms with gently curved petals and yellow stamens. It’s perfect for growing in a mixed herbaceous border container, and makes an excellent cut flower. For best results, grow Paeonia lactiflora ‘Le Cygne’ in well-drained, neutral soil, in full sun.
