Join our Associate Editor David Hurrion for a Masterclass on understanding when and how to make the right pruning cuts to allow your garden to perform to its best. This hour-long Masterclass Online (with extra time for questions) will cover the following topics:
- Discover why we need to prune plants
- Understand the processes by which plants grow, therefore knowing when and how to prune
- Learn what the effects are of pruning in the winter’s dormant season and the spring/summer growing season
- Find out how to make the correct pruning cuts, include angle, tool type, direction of growth etc
- Identify types of pruning: hard pruning, rejuvenation of overgrown shrubs, pruning post-flowering, and pruning of young shrubs to aid establishment
