Agapanthus are South African plants with strap-like leaves and showy flowers in shades of blue, violet or white. They’re ideal for growing in containers, from which their pretty blooms stand tall, spilling over other pots.

Agapanthus ‘Sandringham’ is an excellent agapanthus variety, bearing light, violet-blue flowers on tall stems, contrasting with the mid-green leaves. For best results grow ‘Sandringham’ in a sheltered, sunny spot, in moist but well-drained soil. In exposed areas Agapanthus ‘Sandringham’ benefits from winter protection. Alternatively, grow it in pots and move indoors in autumn.
