Peruvian lilies, Alstroemeria, are among the most showy of perennials, with their spectacular large, brightly streaked flowers.
Alstroemeria 'Ceres' produces striking bright pink flowers with a yellow throat, from mid to late summer. It's superb planted in groups along a path edge, or grouped informally in a sheltered sunny border. Its long flowering period throughout the summer season provides an eye-catching display.
In colder regions plant alstromerias at the base of a south facing wall. Not fully hardy, mulch for the first two winters to protect the rootball.
