Fairy bellflower, Campanula persicifolia, is an old-fashioned cottage garden flower of great charm. Its mat of foliage creeps gradually to form good ground cover and the leaves are retained in all but the severest winters. Wide-open bell flowers appear on tall stems from late spring to early summer.
Campanula persicifolia ‘Powder Puff’ has fluffy double white flowers held on strong stems. It make an excellent cut flower.
Grow Campanula persicifolia ‘Powder Puff’ in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. It may need staking in exposed gardens. Remove spent blooms to prolong flowering.
