Cannas add a touch of the exotic touch to the garden. They're found growing wild in the tropics of southern United States down to South America, and have lush green or bronze foliage and brightly coloured flowers, which appear from midsummer until mid-autumn. Cannas thrive in moist soils in full sun, and look fantastic when grown with other exotic-looking plants, such as agapanthus and crocosmia.

Canna 'Extase' is a medium-sized canna, bearing large, oval-shaped, mid-green leaves, and open, salmon-pink flowers. For best results grow 'Extase' in a moist, sunny border, or in large pots on a sunny, sheltered patio. Keep plants well watered. Being tender, cannas need a little protection to get them through winter. Mulch Canna 'Extase' in autumn to protect the rhizomes from frost, or bring pots indoors.
