Delphinium nudicaule is a short-lived hardy perennial, native to California. In the summer months, bright orange-red flowers emerge from a clump of lush green foliage. Being herbaceous, the top growth dies back in autumn, before new growth emerges in spring.
Delphinium nudicaule 'Redcap' is a compact variety with orange-red flowers and purple tinged foliage that greens up as it matures. For best results, grow Delphinium nudicaule 'Redcap' in full sun or dappled shade, in moist, well-drained soil.
