Hakonechloa is a genus of beautiful, low-growing ornamental grasses. Forming gently arching mounds, hakonechloas are perfect for softening the edges of a path or growing in a pot. They look fantastic when planted alongside more formal plants, such as box, Buxus sempervirens.  Its architectural blooms can be dried and used in flower arranging.

Hakonechloa macra ‘Fubuki’ is markedly different to other varieties of Japanese forest grass. A sport of ‘Aureola’, its green and white variegated foliage is stiff and upright, becoming pink-red in autumn. More compact than other cultivars, it’s ideal for growing in a pot.
